In every life-time
You ask me,
If love and friendships ever last
and I tell you with a sarcastic smile
maybe, maybe
How can something ever last, I ask
Why do you want to believe that we are meant to last
this bond we share, this time
It all is ephemeral
just a little part of this worldly affair
to keep promises in every lifetime is too much, you know
let it be the way it is
Who knows all, anyway
That's why let's just write stories with a teeny-tiny pen in this lifetime
only to be discovered by another person
in some other lifetime
If at all, they are interested in reading the words written by a pen
Do you read letters now? I ask yet again
No, right, but yeah, some aesthetic ones in a bookshop for sure
So let's just stick to this wish,
maybe of being discovered by someone somewhere at some nook
while I wait for you to know me in this little world of ours in this lifetime:)
