आराम in a व्यस्त संसार

In a society wherein being busy and productive is the hallmark of success, 

A day of break also loops our brain into the cycle of feeling guilty! 

Aristotle said rightly that it is leisure and boredom which give impetus to creativity 

To sit and just yawn with your thoughts occupying your mind is the most pleasant activity 

In this Instagram algorithm era, it happens rarely that in "free" time, 

Our fingers are not on this endless spree of scrolling through reels 

It's an algorithm and "what the internet considers right" that occupy the mind space 

As a result of this algorithm only, I read that growing up as a young girl, 

Rarely do I know a calm woman, 

a woman who has time for herself, to sit with herself 

I think it's now that I understand why my mummy considers her 10-15 mins of chai break in the evening as the most sacrosanct time, 

Perhaps it's the only time she gets to sit with herself in peace  

Whenever there are family get-togethers or so-called chill times, 

while men of the house play chess or engage in banter

It's women who are in the kitchen the majority of the time to cook & feed the family. 

Leisure is a privilege:)
